In Jenny’s family, the women would sometimes show up with a small, unexpected gift and say, "It’s just a little Happy." Not for a birthday or holiday, just because.

Happy Overall is named for that very Southern tradition, and for Jenny's experience wearing her expressive 1991 OG overalls, feeling they brought a little happy into her everyday, overall life. 

It started with a pair of overalls Jenny bought in 1991 and kept wearing for decades. They're comfortable, expressively fun, easy and somehow always get people talking. After hearing enough people ask where they could get a pair like them, Jenny and Mark decided to make them. 

Happy Overall makes expressive cotton overalls designed for comfort, color and connection.

Our collections include featherlight cotton cambric hand-block printed in India, as well as original artist-designed prints on cotton twill. Some are playful, some are beautiful, some are wonderfully weird. The idea is the same: Wear something that feels sooo comfortably, expressively you that people can't help but notice and say something.

Our first silhouette is The Relaxed — roomy, easy and intentionally loose through the body and leg.

The Slim, our more streamlined silhouette, is coming soon.

The Relaxed is intentionally roomy through the body and leg, with adjustable double-D-ring straps so you can fine-tune the rise and fit.

For reference, Jenny is 5'7", about 120 lb, with a 35" bust, 27.5" waist and 36" hips. She wears a Small for the signature relaxed fit and an XS when she wants less volume.

Our hand-block printed line features naturally subtle variations in color, line and pattern, and each garment is cut from a different part of the cloth. 

Our artist-designed line will vary from pair to pair depending on art placement, making each one a little different.

Our garments are designed, cut, and sewn  in the USA. Fabric origins vary by collection. Our hand-block collection begins with cotton cambric made and printed in India using traditional carved wooden blocks. Our artist designs are printed on 100% US cotton twill.

Hand-block printing is a traditional process in which artisans apply a pattern to fabric using carved wooden blocks, one impression at a time. The slight shifts in color, line and registration are part of the process, not flaws. They are part of what gives the cloth its character.

To keep your Happy happy for years, hand wash separately in cold water, lay flat to dry and do not bleach.

Orders are processed in 3–5 business days. Orders are not processed or delivered on weekends or holidays.

Once your order is on its way, you’ll receive a shipping confirmation with tracking information at the email address used for your order.

You may request a return within 30 days of carrier delivery. Items must be unworn or unused, with tags attached and in their original packaging. Please reuse the resealable shipping bag when possible.

Sale and clearance items are final sale unless they arrive damaged or you receive the wrong item.
